Arrrg Mateys!

Paris and Sophia's classrooms are decorated with a pirate theme this year. Apparently Friday was "Talk Like a Pirate Day" so their classes celebrated by dressing the part. As always, my girls got into character and made the most of this fun day.

36 Years Old and Ready to Sky Dive!

Well, Mike has been saying for awhile that he wants to try sky diving. This year for his birthday he decided to finally make the "jump." He and his friend Nick share the same birthday, so they ventured together to Lodi on what I playfully was calling their "suicide mission". The kids and I watched in anticipation hoping to witness a happy ending. As it turned out, Mike had a great time and did land on the ground safely. I'm feeling much better now that it's over, but I do have one problem... Paris is ready to try it now too!

Labor Day...

We had a great 3 day weekend. Mike, myself, and the kids have been working pretty hard on trying to improve our house. We've been moving dirt, planting flowers, cleaning out old things, refinishing furuniture... you get the idea. Well, we spent most of the weekend hard at work, however we made sure to make Monday evening about family and fun. Mike took Brenden down the river on the kayak then the girls and I met them at the park afterward for a picnic and some sports. Little Sophia surprised us all with her spirit and stamina. She took on Paris and Brenden in a game of soccer and got 3 goals! All the while she was playing in a skirt and heels. (She dressed herself of course) Who would have guessed that our little couch potato had it in her?

Once Bitten, Twice Stung...

Well, if you remember; a few months ago I posted a few pictures of Mike's swollen face due to a wasp sting between his eyes. It seems that Mike has a way with wasps this year. This time the wasp got his upper lip. Of course I had to take some pictures and post them, and Mike being the character that he is was more than happy to "pose" for me.
