Welcome Baby Jacob!

Little Jacob Rowan Wetenkamp joined our family on Friday February 13, 2009! He and Brooke are healthy and home! I don't have any pictures to post just yet... but believe me I will soon! I can tell you first hand that he is a beautiful baby! Congratulations Jared and Brooke!

Prom

Our ward held a Valentine Prom. My great friend Rickie is on the activities committee and always puts on wonderful parties! It was a fun night. We dressed up in our best, ate deliciouse food, and played the "Newlywed Game." Mike and I were contestants. We did pretty well knowing what the other one would say until it came to the color of our toothbrushes and our favorite vacation. Mike thought our best vacation was a one night get-away without the kids and my idea of a great vacation was a week at the beach with the whole family! Men and women are different! This was the best prom I've ever attended, and the only one where I was happy with my date! :)

Just a Pleasant Friday...

Dominick spent the day with Sophia and I on Friday. He and Sophie worked on puzzles together all day. That afternoon after we picked Paris and Brenden up from school we ventured out to the ranch. The blossoms have begun to pop so I was hoping to get a few pictures. As always the cousins were cheerful models for me. I got some pictures that I think are just priceless...

A Change of Heart

A year and a half ago when Michael and I moved out of our home we felt less than fond of it. We were tired of the battle. To us it represented endless work and lack of hope. Now that we have returned we feel much differently. Time and circumstance have changed our perspective. We are happy to be back and actually quite excited to have our home as our project. We'll be spending family time working together to make our house a home. I'm grateful for the lessons I've been taught over the last couple of years. I know that I am blessed, and I am grateful for all that fills my full life! I've decided to list a few of the things that I LOVE about our home!

I love our beautiful wood floors, and our solid wood doors. I love THE VIEW, especially in the spring after rain. There is a bright rainbow that bends over our house and lands right in the middle of the blooming almond orchard in front of our house! I love the mud. (Well, the kids do!) I love the lush knee-high green grass that makes for beautiful pictures! I love the harvest moon that rises brightly every fall right outside my front door. I love the silly little bird faucet. I love our family walks and the neighborhood tire swing! I love our halloween hay ride tradition. I love the smell of the fresh air every morning, and I love the beautifully clear starry nights every evening!
